Royal College of Physicians website gets a check-up

18/01/2007

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has appointed cScape to undertake a thorough website review and devise a strategy for using the internet to raise RCP’s profile and engage with its many audiences. These include medical professionals, the government and the general public.

RCP is undertaking the review in order to effectively communicate and achieve its primary goals: to promote high clinical standards, provide thought leadership in medical debates, promote learning and training for doctors, support Fellows and Members and communicate the College’s own culture and history.

cScape will conduct a strategic review to determine the best way for RCP to get the most out of its website and meet the audiences’ varied needs and interests. cScape’s audience segmentation and overall consultative process will establish the correct level of prioritisation among site content, features and functionality. cScape will also advise RCP on how to brand the website to reflect the organisation’s identity and house style. The RCP website review will culminate in a thorough set of recommendations for future customer engagement strategies and content creation.

Julie Hollings, Director of Communications for the RCP, said: “Our website plays a vital role in the way that we interact with our Fellows and Members, both in the UK and abroad, and the way in which they access information and training. cScape impressed us with their breadth of experience in working with membership organisations and we are confident that this review will help us further develop our website to meet our members’ changing needs.”

cScape specialises in creating highly accessible and intuitive websites that attract, engage and retain audiences – resulting in measurable improved business returns. Richard Sedley, director of cScape’s Customer Engagement Unit, says, “We are very proud to play a role in helping the Royal College of Physicians bring crucial information and services to medical practitioners, policy makers and the general public. We are all affected by trends in health care provision and medical research and we at cScape are confident that the reviewed RCP website will more clearly demonstrate the college’s global leadership in these areas.”
